Fuel prices continue to rise, creating daily challenges for the air transport industry to battle. IATA aims to aid its members through this fuel crisis by working with key stakeholders including fuel suppliers, related service providers, aircraft manufacturers, engine manufacturers, standardisation bodies, airport authorities and governments.

IATA's approach to fuel-related initiatives includes the following areas:

  • Technical fuel
  • Fuel Action Campaign
  • Fuel conservation
  • Special interest group (IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP)
  • Alternative fuel
  • Commercial fuel

IATA represents and promotes the interests of members in all aspects of jet fuel management with a focus on ensuring the reliable supply of quality jet fuel at optimal price levels, available at airports worldwide.

The IATA Aviation Fuel Forum is the premier industry meeting for the world's aviation fuel community. The next Forum will be held in Shanghai, China from 18-20 November 2008.
